Christopher Farstad (b. 1986, USA) is a Berkeley-based artist whose practice includes works on paper, multi-format video installations and live music performance. Rooted in physical interventions on optical media, his visual production style seeks to place analog formats in dialogue with contemporary and emerging digital technology in order to explore the boundaries of video art and image making. By working in such diverse mediums as live performance, intaglio printmaking, light-based sculpture, projection mapping and multi-channel video, he strives to explore both music and visual art as an emergent phenomenon of gestural abstraction, organic process and improvisation. He has participated in exhibitions such as Digital Graffiti Alys Beach and performed at venues such as Nanahari (Tokyo), the Lab (San Francisco) and Night Club Gallery (Minneapolis). He has also been an accompanying visual artist for a wide variety of musical styles - having presented in live collaboration with purveyors of dark pop glamour like Loveshadow, modern contemporary string quartets like Copenhagen's Halvcirkel, DJs such as Scott Zacharias, and also free-music performances by Muscle Beach.

He was the Technical Director for The Haunt, 2025 at YBCA, SF.
